When society (and in this case via elaborate undue command influence) assigns guilt on the basis of the accusation, and then dresses up the rest of the proceedings to support the foregone conclusion, it puts all of us on a slippery slope. If the current lynch mob-flavored enthusiasm for tarring predators does not include conversation about false accusations and those affected by them, then the discussion is incomplete.
